Release of 2017 Vintage wines
on October 16, 2019

After a long gestation in barrel we have put the joyous 2017 Vintage under glass. True to our roots we vintaged the key varietals of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre which ripened beautifully in a long mild summer. The slow ripening allowed the accumulation of an array of flavours and aromas and we were really excited by what we saw. All of the wines were laid down in new and old French oak barrels and we regularly visited them to see how they were maturing. On first tasting the Shiraz had that typical bevy of dark rich fruit while the Grenache and Mourvedre were more restrained and elegant. All of the wines have a fresh aromatic lift that reminds you of the superb year that they sprung from.
The Shiraz comes from our small estate vineyard in the Barossa Valley central where the rich dark soils give a rich roundness to the wines. For our Grenache and Mourvedre we work closely with generational family grapegrowers like ourselves. The Grenache coming from a dry grown 80+ year old dry grown southern Barossa estate curated by a multiple generational Barossa family.
Please enjoy!
