WINEMAKING
The grapes come from classic Barossa Valley Shiraz country just to the south of Tanunda. The Shiraz is picked at night and co fermented with a small portion of whole bunch Viognier from the Northern Barossa. Once ferment has started it is pumped over by hand twice daily to extract flavour and colour. Filled to a combination of new and old French oak hogsheads for 15 months. Minimal filtration and fining prior to bottling.
TASTING NOTES
Deep red-purple. Vibrant satsuma plum and blackberry. The smoky oak is soft and supporting of the generous lifted fruit. Firm but even tannins lead to a long finish.
